I got my family to go with me to a car show on Saturday. I forgot what it was like to look at cars. I had a bit of a fire lit inside of me again. One of my daughters seemed to half enjoy it, and the other just wanted to sit down after about 15 minutes of walking around.
Anywho, on with the photos.
A rather clean Celica ST. I really wanted to drive it home.
Then along came a Morris Minor. One of the many surprises at this car show.
I took a picture of this Cobra, then was quickly greeted with a "Hey, thanks for taking a picture of my car!" from an older gentleman sitting off to the side in the shade. I stood up and looked at him and asked "Oh sorry, may I take a picture of your car?" He then said "Sure, please take more!" I thought he was chastising me for not asking first. He was actually taking it as a compliment. I talked to him and the guy who helped him build this beauty for a bit. Super nice guys, and I could tell they really had a passion for turning wrenches.
This is a Lexus Corolla Ute created by a local body shop. It looked like it was pretty well done. Not sure what it was powered by, but seems like it would be neat to drive around town.
This car was the first one we saw. A Mazdaspeed 6, which was AWD and turbocharged from the factory, which I was totally unaware of . Unless the guy was feeding me a line of BS, but he seemed to be on the up and up. Really nice looking car.
I think the sign said this was a Ford Cobra. Which I can honestly say, I have never seen one before.
RAT ROD!!
The Chevette was from the same body shop that did the Lexus Corolla Ute.
I was surprised to see this too. A Studebaker!

It looks to me to be a 1970 Ford Torino Super Cobra Jet aka SCJ. It could be just a CJ too - Cobra Jet.
Great cars, 2 years newer sibling of my Montego. My dad used to drag race one when I was a kid. badass cars. If the guy is referring to it as a Cobra..he's wrong lol

I could have missed a lot of the info on the sign. It was kind of on our way out. I snapped a pic because I have never seen anything like it.

yeah they are bad ass. It's basically Ford's answer to the top level GM cars like the Chevelle, GTO, 442, etc.
If it IS the SCJ, it should have a 429 big block.
Really cool cars, and the fact that people never see them is exactly what I love about my Montego.
